Cabbage and Noodles

This makes a wonderful easy side dish, the amounts listed should serve 3-4 but can easily be doubled, I like to add in a little whipping cream towards the end of cooking, also you could add in some cooked crumbled bacon

4 cups uncooked egg noodles 1/4 cup butter (can use more) 1 small onion, chopped 4 cups shredded cabbage (about 1 pound) 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional) salt and black pepper (I use seasoned salt) 1/4-1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese (or to taste)

1. Cook the noodles according to package directions drain then place into a large bowl set aside (if desired toss with a tablespoon oil or butter to prevent sticking). 2. In a skillet melted butter over medium heat add in onion and cabbage, cook stirring over medium heat until tender. 3. Season with salt and black pepper and cayenne (if using). 4. Transfer to the bowl with the noodles toss to combine. 5. Mix in Parmesan cheese until combined.
